They are an excellent solution for repairing teeth that are badly damaged or decayed. Dr. Mah and his associates are skilled at placing Emax (ceramic), zirconia and zirconia combined with porcelain crowns with artistry and precision in to order to provide natural-looking and durable results.

What type of Dental Crowns do you offer?

Our dental practice offers three different types of dental crowns in order to tailor treatments to each patient’s individual needs and goals: Emax (ceramic), zirconia and zirconia combined with porcelain.  These translucent non metal materials offer the advantage of matching your natural tooth colour, producing a pleasing cosmetic solution over metal crowns.  Emax (ceramic) crowns are an excellent choice for treating front teeth.  Zirconia crowns are durable, strong and ideal for providing support to the back teeth for biting and chewing.  All three types of crowns can be used to anchor dental bridges or dental implant restorations.

Your dentist will carefully select the type, size, and color of dental crowns in order to provide results that improve functionality and appearance.

What are the advantages of Dental Crowns?

Dental crowns can strengthen and protect teeth while enhancing the appearance of the patient’s smile. Each crown covers and protects the entire surface area of the tooth. Crowns can eliminate pain and restore strength in teeth that have been seriously injured or damaged and are routinely recommended following any tooth being treated with a root canal.

Another advantage of dental crowns is that they can be placed in as few as two office visits. Lastly, dental crowns are long-lasting and can provide outstanding results for years as long as they are maintained with regular dental hygiene visits and consistent home care.
